Secret

Secret (Korean: 시크릿) is a four-member South Korean girl group formed in 2009. The group consists of Jeon Hyosung, Jung Hana, Song Jieun and Han Sunhwa. The group is signed under TS Entertainment and released their debut single, "I Want You Back", in 2009. In 2010 they released two mini albums entitled Secret Time and Madonna with lead singles "Magic" and "Madonna".
In 2011, they released three other singles, namely "Shy Boy", "Starlight Moonlight" and "Love is Move". Jieun, the main vocalist, also released a solo track titled "Going Crazy" featuring Korean rapper, Bang Yong Guk. In August 2011, the group made their official debut in Japan. Secret was one of the first three Korean girl groups to debut at the top 10 on the Oricon charts, the others were Kara and Girls' Generation being the first and second respectively. Their first studio album, Moving in Secret was released on October 18, 2011. Aside from their commercial accomplishments, the group is well-known for their transitions to cute and girl-next-door image through songs like "Shy Boy" and "Starlight Moonlight" after from displaying a sexy image on their debut period back in 2009 and 2010.

Brown Eyed Girls

The Brown Eyed Girls (Korean: 브라운 아이드 걸스), often abbreviated as B.E.G., is a South Korean girl group managed by Nega Network. The group consists of four members: Jea, Miryo, Narsha, and Ga-in. They've debuted as an R&B/ballad vocal group in 2006 and challenged themselves with different music genres. Rising to popularity in 2008, with L.O.V.E. and retro dance music How Come, they went and completed their transition into a electronica/pop group with Abracadabra and Sign in 2009. Expectations of them coming out with synth-based music were completely overridden with Sixth Sense, considered as Korea’s first rhapsody inspired soul hybrid.

Girls Day


Girl's Day (걸스데이) is a five-member South Korean girl group under the management of Dream Tea Entertainment. The five members are: So Jin, Ji Hae, Min Ah, Yura & Hyeri.

Davichi

Davichi (Korean: 다비치) is a South Korean duet female group made up of Lee Hae-ri (이해리) and Kang Min-kyung (강민경, 姜珉耿). Davichi is derived from the Korean word "Dabichi" meaning the light to shine over the world. Debuting in 2008, they won various new artist awards, and released a mini-album in March 2009, with the lead single "8282" fast becoming a chart-topper. In September 2011, Davichi's song "Don't Say Goodbye" from their new mini-album "Love Delight" peaked at number one on the Korean K-Pop Hot 100 billboard chart.

After School

After School (Korean: 애프터스쿨; Japanese: アフタースクール, AFTERSCHOOL in Japan) is a South Korean girl group formed by Pledis Entertainment in 2009.They are the first group to debut with a unique admissions and graduation concept in Korea, where members are added or withdrawn in a “natural” manner. The band currently consists of 8 members: Park Kahi, Jung Ah, Joo Yeon, Uee, Raina, Nana, Lizzy and E-Young. Former member Soyoung withdrew from the group in fall 2009 and Bekah officially graduated from the group in July 2011.
After School had their first performance alongside label mate Son Dam Bi in 2008 and their official debut occurred on January 2009 with the song "AH!". The group became popular with the release of their hit single, "Because of You", which attained No. 1 and a triple crown on SBS's Inkigayo. After School went on to win various awards at the Billboard Japan Music Awards and the Seoul Music Awards.
Other hits by After School include "Diva", "Bang!" and "Shampoo". Three members of After School have also formed a sub-group with a different concept known as Orange Caramel.
The group began a foray into the Japanese music scene in 2011 under Avex Trax with a remake of their Korean hits "Bang!" and "Diva". Their debut in Japan was quite a success, as the group managed to enter the Oricon Weekly Chart at 7th

Orange Caramel

Orange Caramel (Hangul: 오렌지 카라멜) is a South Korean girl group under the label of Pledis Entertainment. Orange Caramel is a sub-unit from After School.
They debuted on 16 June 2010 with their title track, "Magic Girl". They also released a version of "Orange Caramel - The First Mini Album" in Taiwan. In the Taiwan version, they recorded a Mandarin version of "The Day You Went Away", which is a cover from Cyndi Wang. The song is released as Special for Taiwan. Later in September, they released "Orange Caramel - The Second Mini Album" with their title track,"A~ing♡." They released Bangkok City on the 30th of March as part of the "One of Asia" project.. ”Orange Caramel will promote their new album for one month before rejoining their sisters in Japan, just in time for their second Japanese single, “Diva“. It’s being said that After School will kick-start their overseas promotions into high gear following Orange Caramel’s wrap-up of their Korean promotions Orange Caramel to return with “Shanghai Romance” on October 13! a continuation of their ‘One Asia Project‘, which they kick-started earlier this year with their sleeper hit, “Bangkok City“. This time, they’ll be showcasing one of China’s most vibrant cities as their next destination.
“There are inquiries coming in left and right about Orange Caramel’s new album concept,” revealed a Pledis Entertainment representative. “The album was produced by a star everyone will be surprised at, and the members are filming the music video in secrecy with a strict restriction on leaking concept photos.”

Sistar

SISTAR (Hangul: 씨스타, also stylized as SiSTAR) is a four-member South Korean girl group under the management of Starship Entertainment. The members are: Hyorin, Bora, Soyu and Dasom. On June 3, they released their debut single "Push Push" and made their debut on Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) Music Bank. On August 25, they released their second single "Shady Girl" featuring Super Junior's Heechul and followed up with "How Dare You" on November 29 of 2010. On May 5, Hyorin and Bora made their debut in a sub-group called Sistar19 on M! Countdown with "Ma Boy". The group made their return with their first official album titled So Cool on August 9.

The Grace

The Grace (Korean: 천상지희 더 그레이스; hanja: 天上智喜 The Grace ) is a South Korean girl group formed by SM Entertainment in 2005. It consists of four members who sing, dance, and act. The quartet debuted in 2005.
The band had been known as TSZX prior to the promotion of their 3rd Korean single around the end of 2006, at which the group changed their name to The Grace. TSZX was the romanization of the Mandarin Chinese pronunciation, Tiān Shàng Zhì Xǐ which was also simplified to CSJH, the romanization of the Korean pronunciation, Chun Sang Ji Hee and the simplifications are still sometimes used to refer to the band despite the change in the official name. In Japan, the group is still officially known as Tenjōchiki, which is also abbreviated (albeit less frequently) as TJCK. Their official fan club name is Shapley, named after the largest known megacluster in the universe whose brightest points are four very bright stars which can be seen from Earth. Their official color is pearl pink (previously it was pastel rose pink).

Wonder Girls



Wonder Girls (Korean: 원더걸스) is a South Korean girl group.Its producer and manager is singer-songwriter Park Jin-Young and the Wonder Girls is signed to his talent agency, JYP Entertainment. Each of the five original members were selected through auditions. Debuting in early 2007, they became popular in the fall of that year with the song "Tell Me."They have scored five consecutive #1 hit singles: "Tell Me", "So Hot", "Nobody", "2 Different Tears" and "Be My Baby".In 2008, they won two Daesangs ("Artist of the Year" Awards).
The group began their entry into the American market in 2009, with the English version of their hit single "Nobody".
They are co-managed in the United States by JYP Entertainment and Jonas Group.

T-ara


T-ara (Korean: 티아라, Japanese: ティアラ, often stylized as T-ARA or T♔ARA) is a South Korean girl group formed by Core Contents Media in 2009. Before their debut, there was a high level of interest in the group as they were called "Super Rookies" and had been training for three years prior to debut.
Originally a five-member group, they released their first song "Good Person" for the soundtrack of the Korean drama Cinderella Man in April 2009. In June 2009, members Jiwon and Jiae left the group, delaying the group's debut. The next month, T-ara regrouped to become a six-member group with the addition of Boram, Qri, and Soyeon, and released their debut single "거짓말" ("Lies").
In July 2010, T-ara introduced a new member, Ryu Hwayoung, to become a seven-member group.T-ara uses a rotating leader system, and has a different member of the group elected as leader each year, in order to give both the group and the individual members the opportunity to grow in a new direction.
In 2011, T-ara signed a $4.3 million contract with management company J-ROCK for their Japanese debut, the highest out of all the girl groups debuting in Japan.Their major record label is EMI Music Japan while their management and promotional marketing takes place under J-ROCK.The group's first single, a remake of their 2009 hit "Bo Peep Bo Peep", debuted at #1 on the Oricon weekly charts with 49,712 copies sold, the first for a foreign group and an international female artist ever in history.

Miss A


 Miss A (Korean: 미쓰에이), commonly stylized as miss A, is a four member South Korean girl group formed by JYP Entertainment through their sub-label AQ Entertainment in 2010. The group consists of members from both China and South Korea. They are Fei, Jia, Min and Suzy.
Fei and Jia are considered two of the four best recognized female celebrities of Chinese origin active in the South Korean entertainment scene, along with f(x)'s Victoria Song and fashion model Wei Sun.

2NE1


2NE1 (Korean: 투애니원; Tuaeniwon) is a popular South Korean hip-hop/pop girl group formed by YG Entertainment in 2009. The band consists of four members: CL, Dara, Bom and Minzy. The name 2NE1 combines the phrases "21st century" and "new evolution",and is pronounced "twenty-one" or "To Anyone".
They first appeared in "Lollipop", a commercial campaign with Big Bang for LG Electronics, and their debut single "Fire" was released on May 6, 2009. Since then, the group has released two extended plays, 2NE1 and 2NE1 2nd Mini Album, and one studio album, To Anyone.
While other Korean girl groups emphasize sex appeal and mini-skirts, 2NE1 has a "bad girl" image that includes baggy hip-hop pants and studded bracelets.Fans of 2NE1 call themselves "Blackjacks", a reference to a card game also known as Twenty-One. MTV named 2NE1 the best new band in 2011.

F(x)



 f(x) (Korean: 에프엑스; pronounced /ˌɛf ˈɛks/) is a five member South Korean girl group formed by SM Entertainment in 2009. The name is a play on the mathematical notation for function, and when input with different 'x', there can be many different outcomes. f(x) strives to be the kind of girl group that can change and adapt to many situations. The group members have also been nicknamed "function girls". The group made their debut on September 1, 2009 with release of a digital single "La Cha Ta" (stylized as "LA chA TA"). The quintet consists of Victoria, Amber, Luna, Sulli and Krystal.

Kara


 Kara (Hangul: 카라, Japanese: カラ, often stylized as KARA) is a popular South Korean girl group signed with DSP Media (DSP). The band name Kara comes from the Greek Word "chara" (χαρά, lit. "joy"), which the group interpreted to mean "sweet melody".
Kara started as a four-member group and debuted with a "strong female" image through R&B style for their first album The First Blooming in 2007. In 2008, Kim Sunghee departed the group due to parental pressure, and two new members were brought in; as such, the group currently consists of five members: Park Gyuri, Han Seung-yeon, Nicole Jung, Goo Hara,and Kang Jiyoung. The addition of the two new members also faced a change in the group's original image to a "pretty but natural" appeal. The five-member band went on to achieve their first number one song with "Honey".
The group eventually made their debut in Japan in 2010. By the end of that year, Kara was dubbed as Japan's #1 Rookie Artist of 2010 by Oricon and also received the New Artist Of The Year Award (International) from the Japan Gold Disc Awards. The group also released their first Japanese album, Girl's Talk which was eventually certified as Platinum by the RIAJ. In February 2011, Kara's "Jumping" and "Mister" singles received Platinum and double Platinum certificates, respectively, from RIAJ. In March, Kara became the first foreign female artist to top Oricon’s Composite DVD Chart and the first foreign artist to top this chart for 2 consecutive weeks. In April 2011 with their 3rd single "Jet Coaster Love", Kara became the first foreign female group since the creation of the Oricon (43 years ago) to rank #1 in the 1st week of release and the first foreign female group in 30 years to rank #1 in the charts all together. They also hold the title as the first Korean girl group to top the Oricon Weekly Single Chart.Their official fanclub is Kamilia, derived from a combination of the words "KARA" with the Latin word for Familia, "familia." Kara's official balloon color is pearl peach.

Girls generation


Girls' Generation (korean: 소녀시대; Sonyeo Shidae) is a nine-member South Korean pop girl group formed by S.M. entertainment  in 2007. They are also referred to as SoShi (소시) or SNSD, both abbreviated forms of the group's Korean name. The group is currently the top Korean girl band.
Girls' Generation has released three Korean full albums, three Korean mini-albums, one Japanese full album and various singles. Their 2009 hit single "GEE" holds the record for being the longest running No. 1 song on KBS music bank, having held the No. 1 chart ranking for nine consecutive weeks. Gee was named song of the decade by the Korean music site, Melon.The group also won various awards in 2009 and 2010, including consecutive Artist of the Year (Daesang) awards at the Seoul music awards, Golden disk Awards, Melon Music awards, and the Korean Cultural Entertainment Awards.
The group began a foray into the Japanese music scene in late 2010 under Nayutawave Records, a part of Universal Music, with the Japanese remakes of their 2009 Korean hits " Tell Me Your wish" and "Gee".
The leader of the group is Kim Taeyeon. The other members are Jessica jung, Lee sunkyu(Sunny), Stephanie Hwang (Tiffany), Kim Hyoyeon,Kwon Yuri,Choi sooyoung, Im Yonna and Seo Joo hyun.
